Zimbabwe’s ties to the United Arab Emirates continue to grow as this morning, His Highness Sheikh Al Qasimi paid a courtesy visit to President Mnangagwa at the state house in Harare.
The purpose of the visit was to discuss a way forward in establishing efficient energy development in Zimbabwe.
Speaking on behalf of the office of His Highness Sheikh Ahmed Al Qassim in an interview, Hon. Dr M. Lapa highlighted the plans they have of rural electrification.
“Today we mark a massive milestone to establish the first joint venture of the presidential program of electrifying rural areas.. beginning with the cables factory”, he stated.
He added that their government is working closely with the Ministry of Education to bring value to students, universities and Zesa Holdings to bring connectivity to laptops etc.
Among the attendees at the state house was ZESA Executive Chairman Dr. Sydney Gata who spoke on the importance of investment by the office of His Highness Sheikh Al Qassimi into the energy sector.
“This country needs thousands of kilometres of cable, we also need to expand electricity supply services”, he added.
Minister of Primary and Secondary Education Honourable T. Moyo also reflected on how his Ministry will benefit from the efforts pledged by the Office of His Highness Sheikh Ahmed Al Qassimi.
