The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) has confirmed the arrest of eight suspects involved in a brut@l mob att@ck on Mncedisi Stan Moyo, a 26 year old man.
Moyo accused of r@ping and robbing a 39 year old victim of US$23 and ZAR 40 at Village 4D Mahanyele, Triangle, on August 27 2024.
Moyo reportedly fled the scene after the crime but was subsequently apprehended by the mob, who subjected him to a merciless be@ting with wooden sticks while he was restrained and hanging from poles.
Following the @ssault, the mob abandoned Moyo at Zvemombe Business Centre in Triangle, where he later succumbed to his injuri3s.
Police have launched a thorough investigation to ascertain the circumstances surrounding the att@ck and the events leading to Moyo’s de@th.
The ZRP is urging community members to refrain from taking the law into their own hands and to report crimes through proper channels to avoid further tragedies.
Investigations are ongoing as police work to gather more information about the incident and the suspects involved.
