Enzo Maresca has delivered his verdict on Chelsea’s goalkeeper situation as Filip Jorgensen and Robert Sanchez battle it out for the number one spot at Stamford Bridge. Maresca highlighted that the club have have two goalkeepers who are both good.
Sanchez has been the preferred choice since Maresca’s arrival at Chelsea, with Djordje Petrovic displacing the Spaniard last season.
“The idea is not to change, we trust Robert”.
“But also in that case, we have two keepers who are both good. Until they maintain the same level, we are happy with that,” said the coach
Sanchez has saved Chelsea on occasion this season, he has also come under fire for several errors since the start of the season.
Additionally, the Chelsea boss has expressed his feelings and pride to work with Chelsea’s 22-year-old forward, Cole Palmer. The England forward has been the outstanding player as Maresca’s young side have emerged as the nearest challengers to league leaders Liverpool as the season approaches the halfway stage.
Palma scored 11 goals in 15 games he is the club’s top scorer and has also made six assists, with the penalty he scored to put Chelsea 4-2 up in Sunday’s win against Tottenham
“I feel very proud and privileged to work with Cole Palmer. He’s a different one, for sure,” Maresca said.
