In Balfour, Mpumalanga, four siblings, ages 36 to 45, were taken into custody by the police after their father, 71, was k!lled.
Colonel Donald Mdhluli, a spokesman for the Mpumalanga police, stated that the incident occurred on Saturday.
“On that fateful Saturday, some members of the community found the victim at about 11am on a couch, without any sign of life,” said Mdhluli.
“The police as well as the medical personnel were summoned to the scene. The victim had multiple visible gunshot wounds.”
Some empty cartridges were also found at the scene.
“It was during this time when the victim was unfortunately certified dead by the paramedics,” said Mdhluli.
“Preliminary investigation thus far revealed that the victim previously applied for, and was granted with, a protection order against his children,” said Mdhluli.
He claimed that the police’s exhaustive investigation produced favorable results, as the four siblings—three daughters and one son—were apprehended in Heidelberg, Gauteng, on the same day as the event.
On Tuesday, the accused siblings in the m_rder case are expected to appear before the Balfour Magistrate’s Court. Major General Zeph Mkhwanazi, the acting provincial commissioner of police in Mpumalanga, has “strongly” denounced the brut@l m_rder of the father, who is seventy years old.
Mkhwanazi praised the police for their outstanding efforts in the investigation, which led to the criminals’ prompt apprehension.
