A female traditional healer has been arrested and faces aggravated indecent @ss@ult charges after allegedly @ss@ulting a 17-year-old boy with mental challenges during a supposed healing session.
Catherine Nhongo, 39, appeared before Harare regional magistrate Donald Ndirowei and is currently remanded in custody, with a bail hearing which was set for last Wednesday.
The court was informed that on November 10, the boy’s sister met Nhongo while returning from the shops according to reports from H Metro .
After sharing her brother’s speech difficulties and disabilities, Nhongo offered her assistance.
Accompanied by her sister, Nhongo returned to their home and requested beer and cigarettes to initiate the spiritual healing process.

The boy’s brother left to gather the items, which Nhongo consumed upon his return.
During the session, Nhongo instructed the boy’s brother to place mealie meal in the boy’s mouth.
She then began touching the boy inappropriately and demanded that his siblings leave the house, insisting on having privacy with him.
They complied with her request.
Approximately 15 minutes later, the siblings heard unusual sounds from inside.
The boy eventually emerged, raising his hands in distress and managed to take his brother’s phone to type that Nhongo had @ss@ulted him.
Alarmed, the brother informed his sisters, who then called the police.
Nhongo attempted to flee the scene but was apprehended by the boy’s brother before she could escape.
