AMBITIOUS Premier Soccer League outfit Herentals are targeting nothing but silverware in the 2024 PSL season which kicks off next month.
The students are hoping 2024 could be the year they finally get their hands on a trophy in the top flight.
Herentals were promoted to the PSL in 2018 and since then they have been a constant top eight side in the league, barring the 2019 season when they finished 11th.
The ambitious side has been to the final of the Chibuku Super Cup, but they lost to Bulawayo Chiefs.
The students are banking on fresh blood after five youngsters were promoted to the senior team from their development side which competes in the Northern Region Division One.
“We have added players from the developmental side to the first team we believe because of the DNA of the club they have, they can push us to do better than last season as we hope to finally land something in the league,” said Herentals coach, Kumbirai Mutiwekuziva.
Herentals also snapped up talented teenager Leon Daka from relegated Cranborne Bullets.
The club has also welcomed back roving right back Willmore Chimbetu who was on loan at Dynamos.
They have however lost winger Davison Marowa to FC Platinum.
