A heavy sense of grief has settled over the Victoria Range community in Masvingo following the d3ath of a Form One student on the eve of the new school term.
The student, who was preparing to return to Zimuto High School for the third term, was found deceased just as her family was readying her for the school year.
Chris Mezah, the father of the Zimuto High School pupil, was overcome with emotion and struggled to continue as he confirmed the tragic news.
“It’s true, my daughter has passed away,” he said, his voice heavy with grief. “I found her when I got home from work. She had spent the whole day with her siblings at our home in Vic Range.”

“We had finished getting everything ready for her to go back to Zimuto. Her trunk was already in town, prepared for the new term. Coming home to this is just overwhelming. I’m in shock and will need to call you back with more details once I can gather myself,” he added during an interview with The Midweek Watch.
The sudden passing of the young student has deeply affected the community, sending shockwaves through her circle of friends, family, and classmates.
