Zimbabwe international forward Prince Dube’s transfer saga in Tanzania is with reports that Azam FC had rejected an offer from rivals Yanga for Dube’s signature. Prince Dube joined Azam FC four years ago and currently he is forcing his exit from the club
The striker wants to cancel his contract immediately, which he claims is ending in June this year, while Azam says the deal still has two more years. Dube has reportedly offered the club US$150 000 to be released from the contract, but the Azam is demanding double of his offer.
The Warriors striker has since stopped training and playing for Azam as he tries to force his move away and the dispute has already been referred to the Tanzania Football Federation who are set to make their judgment this week.
However, Yanga has made manoeuvres to sign the striker and the parties have reportedly agreed on a two-year contract.
Reports from Tanzania yesterday suggested the cash-rich club had bought a luxury house for Dube in Salasala, a few kilometres from the Indian Ocean beach as part of the deal.
According to the source quoted by a Tanzanian publication confirmed that Dube has signed for Yanga.
“Dube has signed for Yanga, it is the only club he wants to play for in Tanzania. The contract has many aspects, a house, a car and the salary is also very high. It is time Azam just leave him alone because they have offered him an improved contract which he turned down. He is not happy with Azam life anymore. If you speak to him, he is so sure of what he wants. He says he wants to play for a club that has a habit of winning trophies because he wants to be successful wherever he goes.”
