Chelsea midfielder Conor Gallagher has verbally agreed to terms and said “yes” to join the La Liga giant Atlético Madrid. Last week, the two clubs reached a verbal agreement for the midfielder, with the Spanish side agreeing to pay a package of €40 million to Chelsea.
According to Fabrizio Romano, this saga has finally come to an end after the footballer has given his verbal agreement to join Atlético Madrid. Chelsea will receive €40 million, and Conor Gallagher will sign a five-year contract.
“Conor Gallagher has verbally agreed terms and said YES to join Atlético Madrid!
‘Here we go’ to follow today after formal steps, five year deal,” Fabrizio Romano confirmed.
The club have emphasized the seriousness of their intentions to sell the player by removing him from first-team training. Club head coach, Marca, has confirmed that Chelsea has explicitly informed Gallagher that they do not plan to include him in their plans for the next season.
Conor Gallagher is a product of Chelsea’s youth academy and has been with the club since he was seven years old. He has always held a professional contract with the Blues but has been loaned out to other clubs, exclusively in England.
