The police in Tzaneen, Limpopo have launched a manhunt for four unknown men who allegedly ganged and r@ped a 15-year-old girl. It is alleged that the victim who was walking from a bar to a tavern was allegedly @bducted in Tzaneen in the early hours of last Saturday morning.
SAPS spokesperson Colonel Malesela Ledwaba said the police received information that the victim left her residence at Mopje village, Bolobedu, last Friday, around 5.30pm headed to a bar lounge in a neighbouring village where she partied the night away with her two friends. “On Saturday, April 27, 2024 at about 2am, the victim left the bar and proceeded to a local tavern. While on the way, the victim said an unknown, red motor vehicle with four occupants, stopped next to her and the men alighted from the car and they were wielding firearms,” said Ledwaba.
He said the suspects gr@bbed the teenage girl and forced her into their car and drove away to an unknown location in the bushes within the Tzaneen area. “Upon arrival, the suspects r@ped the victim in the bushes and later fled the scene driving the unknown motor vehicle, leaving the victim in the bushes. The 15-year-old managed to walk to the main road, and she was assisted by a motorist who drove her to Tzaneen police station to report the incident,” said Ledwaba. He said the police opened a case of r@pe and a manhunt for the four unknown men is ongoing.
