The late Genius ‘Ginimbi’ Kadungure, a prominent Zimbabwean socialite and businessman, continues to make headlines even after his untimely passing on November 8, 2020.
The luxury mansion he constructed has become embroiled in a new legal challenge, as his sister and heir, Nelia Kadungure, has recently been summoned to a Chief’s Court regarding unpaid land fees associated with the property.
Reports indicate that Ginimbi purchased the land for a total of US$13000. However, upon his de@th, it appears that the late businessman had only completed a partial payment, reportedly amounting to US$4000.
This outstanding balance has led the original landowners to seek recourse, claiming that they have been left in financial limbo due to the unpaid dues.
Dadirai Nhau, the daughter of Shanda Kibiti Matope, the man who sold the land to Ginimbi, has stepped forward to assert her family’s claims.
In a court appearance before Chief Chinhamora, she recounted witnessing the completion of the land deal, alongside her father, which she claims was corroborated by village head, Sabhuku Kadyausavi.
Nelia Kadungure has allegedly been unresponsive to communications regarding the outstanding payment, which has further complicated the situation, especially since Matope is currently unwell.
Nelia, citing health issues, was unable to attend the most recent court session, prompting a postponement of the proceedings.
This has fueled speculation concerning the future of Ginimbi’s opulent mansion, which remains under threat due to these unresolved land payment disputes.
The Kadungure family has faced multiple challenges since Ginimbi’s de@th, and this latest development adds another layer of complexity to their ongoing legal and financial struggles.
The potential loss of the mansion, which has become emblematic of Ginimbi’s extravagant lifestyle, raises concerns not just for the family, but also for Ginimbi’s legacy and the local community that had been drawn to his vibrant personality.
As this case unfolds, the court’s decision will be pivotal in determining the future status of the mansion and any implications for Nelia and the broader Kadungure family.
