President Mnangagwa stated,
“God has been very kind to me because most of my colleagues are long gone. I had a taste of death several times including recently when I was poisoned in Gwanda. But I am still here, and I want to give credit to VP Chiwenga. Him and the First Lady were able to rush me to the hospital in South Africa, and I survived. I want my family to know that Chiwenga saved me; he took it upon himself.”
A Grateful President and a Thoughtful Birthday Dinner
President Emmerson Mnangagwa expressed his gratitude for the thoughtful birthday dinner his wife and children organised. He mentioned his happiness and pleasure about the “conspiracy” by his wife and children for organizing the dinner.
He also expressed his humbleness at the overwhelming number of people who attended the birthday dinner, making him feel special.
The birthday celebration was marked by the presentation of three special cakes. The first cake, representing a farm, symbolized the President’s heart and passion for farming. The second cake showcased various special moments in the President’s lifetime.
Lastly, a suspended cake demonstrated the highs and lows of life, symbolizing the President’s determination to overcome trials and tribulations.
The President’s sons had a special gift for their father—a day fishing trip voucher, with all expenses paid. Knowing the President’s commitment to his work, they joked that if the trip had been longer, he would not make it.
The birthday anniversary dinner was a testament to the love and respect President Mnangagwa receives from his family, friends, and colleagues. It was a night filled with heartfelt gratitude, celebration, and hope for the future.
