Mark Mandiki, a resident of Gokwe, finds himself facing charges of undermining and insulting the Office of the President after allegedly referring to President Emmerson Mnangagwa as a ‘scud’ during a confrontation with ZANU PF supporters on February 25, 2023.
The term ‘scud’ is commonly associated with a container used by Delta Beverages to package Chibuku opaque beer. Although the scud gained prominence in the 90s, it remains available in shops, albeit overshadowed by the more portable ‘Super’ variant, which has become the preferred choice among consumers.
The incident reportedly occurred amidst a heated argument between Mark Mandiki and the ZANU PF supporters, where tensions escalated, leading to Mandiki’s derogatory remark against the President.
