The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) has confirmed the arrest of 32-year-old Daniel Chifamba in connection with a tragic murd3r that took place at the Level Cross Business Centre in Chikombedzi on December 1, 2024.
The incident reportedly unfolded when Chifamba, embroiled in a heated dispute, began to as$ault Chris Tada, his acquaintance.
As Tada struggled to defend himself, Meke Kuza, a 66-year-old bystander, intervened in an attempt to separate the two men and restore peace.
Unfortunately, Chifamba’s fury turned towards Kuza, leading him to ass_ult the elderly man.
Witnesses described a scene of chaos as Chifamba repeatedly struck Kuza on the head with a traditional weapon known as a knobkerrie.
The violent altercation left Kuza critically injur3d, and he was rushed to a nearby medical facility, where he succumbed to his injuries shortly thereafter.
Many lamented the escalating v_olence in their area, calling for increased community engagement and intervention to prevent future tragedies.
The police were quick to respond, apprehending Chifamba shortly after the incident and beginning their investigation into the circumstances surrounding the ass_ult.
Initial reports suggested that alcohol may have played a role in the altercation, as Chifamba appeared highly intoxicated at the time of his arrest.
