Comedian Trevor Gumbi’s ex-wife, Lucille, has married Zimbabwean boyfriend Eddie Dandara, who is a businessman.
The couple celebrated their union in a traditional ceremony in Eddie’s hometown in Zimbabwe over the weekend. They were surrounded by family and friends who came to witness them exchange vows.
Lucille expressed her joy and gratitude to Zimoja, describing the celebration in Zimbabwe as heartwarming:
“This past weekend’s celebrations were fun, and it was truly heartwarming to be welcomed by the people of Murewa, Zimbabwe. The warmth and love made it easy to just be in the moment and have fun celebrating our love and our union.”
Before the Zimbabwean ceremony, the families had already celebrated their new marriage in South Africa. She gushed:
“I don’t even know where to begin. My heart is bursting with joy and gratitude. Yesterday was truly one of the best days of my life. The start of my forever with my soul mate, my king, my forever. We were surrounded by love. Our family and friends looked amazing. Seeing them all as I walked down the aisle made me cry. Seeing my husband was the ultimate tear-jerker.
“Lord thank you for giving us the opportunity to celebrate our love exactly the way we wanted to. Everything was as we expected and more. To my husband, thank you for being you and for giving me love like no other and for making sure that I got the wedding I wanted, even when it was not easy but here we are my king, we did it.”
Lucille was previously in a marriage with Trevor for 11 years before their 2017 divorce. Gumbi had previously opened up about falling out of love with Lucille, leading to their separation. He also shared personal struggles, including filing for bankruptcy at 28 and dealing with drug addiction, acknowledging the impact of his past marriage.
Since then, both Trevor and Lucille have moved on to new relationships, with Trevor marrying Nande Ngxola, who reportedly played a significant role in his transformation.
