A 26-year-old man from Guruve, Lameck Mareyengo, has been arrested by the Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) in connection with a case of attempted robbery that occurred earlier this week on May 13, 2025. According to the Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP), the suspect pounced on a motorcyclist along a dust road in Kagande Village, Chpuriro, and attacked him with a sjambok and fists while demanding cash. Mareyengo’s arrest came to light after the complainant managed to overpower the suspect.
“Police in Guruve arrested Lameck Mareyengo (26) in connection with a case of attempted robbery which occurred along a dust road in Kagande Village, Chpuriro on 13/05/25. The suspect pounced on a motorcyclist and attacked him with a sjambok and fists while demanding cash. The complainant managed to overpower the suspect, leading to his arrest,” the police memo reads.
Meanwhile, the Zimbabwe Republic Police in Harare has arrested Enock Chamunyanga (47) in connection with a case of murder that occurred on Saturday last week at a house in Stoneridge Park. The suspect allegedly assaulted his wife, Flora Witness (47), with fists and booted feet all over the body for unknown reasons. The victim died just three days after the incident while admitted to a local hospital.
