“Halloween came early in Zim”-Prisilla Chigumba Criticised For Her Dressing On Inauguration

Harare, Zimbabwe – In the wake of President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s recent inauguration, the focus shifted from political matters to a surprising spectacle – the unconventional fashion choices of the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (ZEC) Chairperson, Justice Priscilla Chigumba.

Her unique attire at the inauguration ceremony has left the nation buzzing with mixed emotions.

Justice Chigumba’s attire was far from conventional, prompting a frenzy of reactions on social media. Many Zimbabweans expressed their astonishment at her fashion choices, with some dubbing it a “fashion fiasco.”

One Twitter user, @Arumlily92, questioned the choice, asking,

“All that money just to dress like this? That blouse and jacket combo? The gloves? The braids and dhuku fascinator combo? Chaos pakupfeka chaos paku runner ma elections. Just chaos.”

Critics were quick to offer advice, suggesting that Justice Chigumba should consider hiring a stylist for important state functions.

Others were concerned about the Zimbabwe Electoral Chief’s body language.

Former cabinet minister and opposition politician David Coltart remarked,

“Some pictures tell a million stories. What does that body language tell us?”

Others on Twitter chimed in with their thoughts, comparing her attire to various unusual references.

@SansoleSie humorously said,

“Dressed like those witches from Hocus Pocus,”

@michealtm2000, on the other hand, drew parallels with “The Undertaker.”

Dissent and Speculation Abound
Amid the humour, some expressed deeper concerns. Nyasha Musandu quipped,

“This dressing doesn’t add up… much like the presidential results 👀.”

@Moyo46124060 raised questions about her demeanor, saying,

“She looks pensive, her dressing is weird looks like mummy water Mai vanorema avoo she is not clean.”

Even @NomaSoftLife couldn’t resist a jest, saying,

“Halloween came early in Zim 😂 wtf is she wearing 😂😂😂 kunge ari kutanda botso.”

A Matter of Individual Expression
While social media erupted with criticism and humor over Justice Chigumba’s fashion sense, it’s essential to remember that personal style is a form of self-expression.

Fashion is subjective, and what may be unconventional to some is a bold statement for others.

Justice Priscilla Chigumba’s fashion choices at President Mnangagwa’s inauguration have undoubtedly sparked conversations and memes across Zimbabwean social media.

Whether her unique style was intentional or accidental, it is evident that her attire left a lasting impression.

As Zimbabweans continue to discuss this unexpected fashion spectacle, one thing remains clear – it’s a conversation starter that won’t be forgotten anytime soon.
