The Police in Harare is reaching out to the community for assistance in gathering information related to a daring r0bbery that occurred in the Central Business District (CBD) on July 28 2024 .
The incident took place on Leopold Takawira Street at approximately 2:30 AM, leaving both the shop owner and local residents concerned about safety in the area.
According to reports, five masked suspects ambushed the security guard stationed at the shop. Details of the ass@ult indicate that the guard was overpowered before the thieves proceeded to breach the shop’s premises.
Once inside, the robbers reportedly targeted the safe, making off with a significant amount of cash. Initial estimates suggest that the suspects managed to steal approximately US$10 000 along with ZiG 300 and several important documents stored within the safe.
The police have described the suspects as unknown at this time and are urging anyone with information regarding the heist to come forward.
In response to the ongoing fe@rs, the police have reiterated their commitment to ensuring public safety and are increasing patrols in the CBD.
