POPULARLY known for his love-themed songs like Heavy Machine, singer Bryan Kadengu “Bryan K” says he has switched to gospel music although still maintaining the love theme.
As part of the transformation, early this year Bryan K released his first gospel album As I Am, a 14-track album with such songs as Amen, Zadzisa, Mangwanani, Again and Again, Come To Pass and Give It All.
Bryan K told NewsDay Life & Style that although his switch to gospel tunes has been met with mixed reactions by fans, he has no second thoughts about it.
“I used to sing to help people navigate through relationships, now I am pointing them to the most important relationship. The music is now about love to remind people that God loves them regardless of where they are in their lives,” he explained.
“I am still singing about love, but just a different kind of love so I am still serving my purpose. Some love the switch, others are not too sure. I have always made music the way it came to me and that is not going to change.
“If God gives me a song, I am going to sing it the way it is. I am only putting gospel music, not sure if it is going to change, but that is where my heart is now.”
Bryan K revealed that he has gone through difficult times and found comfort in gospel music.“If these are the things I needed to hear, there should be many people out there who need them,” he noted.
