Hillside Primary School sports director, Mr. Perfect Dube, commended the athletes for their hard work and determination. “Last year, seven pupils qualified for the provincial competitions, and this year the number has increased to 11. We are incredibly proud of their achievements. The competition was tough, but our athletes rose to the occasion,” he said.
Mr. Dube also expressed gratitude to Express Printing for recognising and motivating the young athletes. “Today, Express Printing honoured our outstanding athletes with medals. This gesture will go a long way in inspiring other pupils to work hard and excel in sports,” he added.
Express Printing innovations officer, Ms. Thandiwe Ndlovu, explained that the company’s support is part of its corporate social responsibility initiatives. “As a local company, our business thrives on the support of the Bulawayo community. It is important for us to give back by partnering with schools and encouraging young talent in sports and other areas,” she said.
The recognition ceremony not only celebrated the athletes’ achievements but also highlighted the importance of nurturing young talent and fostering a culture of excellence in sports. As the pupils prepare for the upcoming provincial and national competitions, the support from their school and the local community serves as a powerful motivator.
Hillside Primary School continues to shine as a hub for athletic talent, and the success of its pupils is a testament to the dedication of both the students and their coaches.
