Multiple award winner, film maker and investigative journalist Hopewell Chin’ono, suggest that Zimbabwe’s ruling party (Zanu PF) should learn political maturity, civilization and patriotism from the Nambian government.
The journalist gaves the thumbs to Nambia’s ruling party after showing the maturity in it’s political room following the de@th of Nambian president H.E. President Hage Geingob early this month.
The Nambian government has chosen the country’s official opposition leader McHenry Venaani to be one of the pallbearers, he will be one of the people carrying the late president’s casket.
Chin’ono took his X (formerly twitter) handle account and wrote the following:
The ZANUPF Zimbabwean Government should learn from this display of political maturity, civilisation and patriotism by the Namibian Government.
Namibia’s is having a State funeral and burial for its recently deceased President, Hage Geingob.
The Namibian Government has chosen that country’s official opposition leader McHenry Venaani to be one of the pallbearers, he will be one of the people carrying the late president’s casket.
It is a kind of political maturity never seen in Zimbabwe where the Government treats the opposition and everyone critical of it as the enemy.
To choose a man who differed politically with the late president shows that in Namibia politics is about the nation and not the party, it is about national interest unity and not narrow partisan interests!
Namibians don’t have to beat their chests anymore about their level of maturity, they have displayed it for Africans to see.
It is up to other Africans to choose this light shown by the Namibians or darkness of treating other compatriots as enemies!
In the de@th of their president, Namibians are demonstrating and teaching many things to fellow Africans.
Don’t just parrot Ubuntu, live it and show it through your actions as the Namibians are doing!
These actions bring the nation together and demonstrate that politics is an act of building a country and not being divisive!
The move taken by the Nambian government shows unity in the country’s political arena and the journalist suggested that if it happens in his country it will build the country.
