Hopley residents are over the moon as 3000 water taps were installed, ensuring access to clean water for their households.
Harare Mayor Jacob Mafume, through the Harare City Council’s initiative, commissioned this project, which included siting boreholes and taps in areas facing water accessibility challenges.
In a statement shared on Mayor of Harare’s X account and seen by newsreportzim.com, Mayor Mafume highlighted the significance of this endeavor, mentioning the commissioning of 3000 water taps for 3000 households in Hopley, Harare South, with a target of 9000 taps by August’s end.
He emphasised that water is a fundamental right.
During his address, Mayor Mafume engaged the residents, seeking their feedback on the program’s effectiveness.
He asked, “Are you satisfied with this program, and should we continue with it?”
The residents responded with joy and pledged their support for the ongoing initiative.
