The tranquil Fern Valley community in Mutare is struggling to come to terms with the shocking discovery of four human skulls and various skeletal remains in a recently dug shallow trench.
According to media reports, the eerie find has left residents shaken and searching for answers. City of Mutare employees stumbled upon the remains while collecting stones for construction purposes in the mountainous area.
The discovery has raised more questions than answers, with residents wondering how the remains ended up there and who they belonged to.
One of the employees, Mrs. Ruby Madzima, described the moment they found the remains, saying they initially thought it was an animal carcass but soon realised it was human.
The police were called, and further digging uncovered more skulls and remains, all buried in an orderly manner.
The community is now living in fear, with some speculating that it could have been a mass m_rder.
The police have confirmed the discovery and are investigating to determine the identities of the victims and the circumstances surrounding their de@ths.
In a separate incident, human remains were also discovered in Buhera, with a national identity card found on the deceased linking them to a m_rder case from 2023.
