After hearing rumors that his wife was meeting another guy, a BUHERA police officer brutally m_rdered her by repeatedly st@bbing her throughout her body with an okapi knife.
According to reports, this came to light following the conviction of 37-year-old Cuthbert Mupfuki of Nechiwowe Village, Chief Nyashanu, Muzokomba, Buhera, for m_rder as that term is defined in Section 47(1)(a) or (b) of the Criminal Law (Codification and Reform) Act, Chapter 9:23.
Mupfuki was given a 15-year prison sentence.
He was a fully certified member of the Zimbabwe Republic police, assigned to the Support Unit, Sierra Troop, Changadzi.
Judge Isaac Muzenda of the Mutare High Court took into account the accused’s reparations of thirty herds of cattle to the family of the deceased when he sentenced Mupfuki.
According to testimony given in court, Mupfuki k!lled his wife, Brenda Manyara, on October 10 of last year by repeatedly st@bbing her throughout her body with a knife. The victim of the horrific ass@ult suffered severe inj_ries and passed away immediately.
Manyara died from respiratory failure brought on by trauma, according to the results of a post-mortem performed by Dr. Elisha Murasiranwa at Birchenough Bridge Hospital.
When the accused arrived, he invited the now-deceased to their bedroom, according to testimony given by the deceased’s niece, Ms. Constance Gwemba, who testified during the trial, she was at Mupfuki’s homestead with the now-deceased Manyara, Mr. Tinotenda Mwanakwaye, Miss Barbra Mupfuki, Miss Perseverance Mupfuki, and Mr. Bright Mupfuki.
