At the center of a small town of Plumtree is a story of betrayal, heartbreak, and financial ruin.
Vincent Chiwawa, a man who had invested his heart and soul into his marriage, discovered that his wife, Christian Kagande, had been leading a double life as reported by H Metro.
While he was busy facilitating her papers to relocate to the UK, she had been carrying on an affair with Alfos Bukhosibethu Nyathi, an employee of the Environment Management Agency.
The affair, which lasted from 2020 to 2024, not only destroyed the Chiwawa’s marriage but also affected their children socially and professionally.
The couple’s children, aged 14 and 11, would often confide in their father that their mother was away every other night, supposedly attending church meetings, when in reality, she was meeting with her lover.
The community in Plumtree became aware of the situation, and the gossip spread like wildfire.
The Chiwawa’s social standing and reputation were severely damaged, with many in the town whispering about the scandal. Vincent’s professional life was also affected, with many of his peers losing respect for him.
The situation came to a head when Christian confessed to her pastor and later to her husband about the affair.
Vincent was left heartbroken and devastated, feeling that his life’s work had been ruined by Nyathi’s actions.

The affair had a profound impact on the family, especially Christian, who lost her attraction and satisfaction with her husband’s affection.
The relationship that once brought her joy and warmth was now a distant memory.
In an effort to seek justice and compensation for his suffering, Vincent has taken Alfos Nyathi to court, demanding $45,000 in damages for contumelia and loss of consortium as a result of adultery.
He also wants Alfos to compensate him for the financial and emotional distress caused by the affair.
The court has granted Vincent a default judgment, as Alfos failed to respond to the summons. The case serves as a reminder of the devastating consequences of infidelity and the importance of seeking justice in cases of marital betrayal.
Vincent’s relocation to the UK in December 2023 was meant to be a new beginning, a chance to start anew and provide a better life for his family.
However, the discovery of Christian’s affair had left him shattered, and he was forced to file for a default judgment.
