A woman from Hwange has been arr3sted and sentenced after she stabbed her husband during a domestic argument about dinner.
The incident led to charges under the Domestic V!olence Act, highlighting the serious consequences of domestic violence.
The case was brought before the Hwange Magistrates’ Court. According to the National Prosecution Authority (NPA), the altercation occurred on the evening of September 29, 2024, around 7:30 PM.
What began as a verbal disagreement over food escalated into v!olence.

In a moment of anger, the woman st@bbed her husband in the left elbow with a kitchen knife.
She then struck him on the mouth with a dinner plate and hit him multiple times with enamel cups, causing him visible injuries, including a deep cut on his elbow and a swollen lip.
Concerned for his safety, the husband decided to report the incident to the authorities.
After reviewing the evidence, the court sentenced the woman to 12 months in pr!son.
However, they suspended six months of her sentence for five years, provided she does not commit any further crimes during that time.
The other six months were converted into 210 hours of community service.
The NPAZ used this case to stress the importance of resolving conflicts peacefully.
They urged people to find non-violent ways to handle disagreements, reminding everyone of the risks associated with v!olent actions.
