Blessing Nwachukwu Frank, a Nigerian woman based in the U.S., has shared her story of empowerment and self-celebration following her d!vorce.
In a bold Facebook post on February 4, she revealed that she hosted a lavish divorce party at one of Atlanta’s most upscale restaurants to commemorate the end of her marriage.
In her post, Blessing addressed those who have criticized her for embracing singlehood in her 30s.
“A lot of you have spent the past three years calling me all sorts of names simply because I am divorced and choose to remain single,” she remarked, expressing that their opinions don’t affect her happiness.

“Many times, I just roll my eyes because what you don’t know is that you are crying me a river,” she added.
Reflecting on her journey, she emphasized the importance of celebrating every phase of life, regardless of its challenges. “I celebrate everything in my life: the good, the bad, and the ugly,” she said. Drawing a comparison to how people often gather to mourn yet find joy in celebration, she asserted, “Didn’t people come to my parents’ funeral, ate, and danced even though my heart was breaking?”
Blessing is unapologetic about her choices, stating, “This year would have marked my 10-year anniversary, but I have peace being 37 and single.” She emphasizes that her happiness comes from prioritizing herself, declaring, “I am genuinely happy because I chose me.”
She also took a moment to acknowledge others’ journeys, stating, “To those who are still together past ten years, I’m proud of you. To those who walked away and chose to be alone, I’m also proud of you.” Her message resonates with a universal truth: “Whatever decision you made, as long as it brings you joy and keeps you mentally healthy, I am very proud of you. C’est la vie!”
