Manchester City head coach and manager Pep Guardiola has expressed his pride in winning six Premier League titles since taking charge of the club in 2016. Guardiola has achieved this impressive feat over seven seasons so far.
The manager’s remarks came after Liverpool fans chanted, “Sacked in the morning, you’re getting sacked in the morning,” during the 89th minute of Manchester City’s 2-0 defeat at Anfield. Responding to the chants, Guardiola stated, “I’m so proud of my six Premier League titles!”
Speaking after the match, the 53-year-old coach admitted he did not expect such chants at Anfield when asked about the incident.
“I didn’t expect it from the people of Liverpool, but it’s fine. It’s part of the game, and I understand completely. We’ve had incredible battles together. I have respect for them,” Guardiola said.
Manchester City currently sit fifth in the Premier League table, behind Liverpool, Arsenal, Chelsea, and Brighton. The team has now lost four consecutive top-flight games for the first time since August 2008.
Additionally, City are without a win in their last seven matches across all competitions—an unprecedented run under Guardiola, who has brought immense joy and success to the club over the past eight years.
