A heart-wrenching case in Lusaka has sparked widespread outrage after an Indian businessman refused to meet the mother of a 14-year-old boy whose hands were severed and legs severely inj_red by his vicious dogs.
Beauty Sifumkwe, a 35-year-old widow, had arranged to meet the businessman to discuss compensation and justice for her son’s gruesome inj_ries.
However, upon arrival at his company in Misisi, she was turned away by his wife, citing “important meetings.” Mrs. Sifumkwe expressed frustration and skepticism about securing justice, saying, “I’m worried that the case will be swept under the rug.”
The brutal att@#ck occurred on January 11, 2024, in Chipata Compound, where the boy was accused of attempting to steal side mirrors. The businessman allegedly unleashed his dogs, resulting in severe inj_ries.
The only compensation offered was a 25kg bag of mealie meal. Investigative journalist Idah Banda Musakanya uncovered disturbing footage showing the boy’s inhumane treatment.
Initially, police closed the case, and the boy was hidden away. However, thanks to BMTV’s reporting, two Indian men involved have been arrested and detained. Citizens remain vigilant, demanding accountability and justice.
