The Foreign Ministry of Saudi Arabia, Faisal bin Farhan Al-Saud has expressed Saudi Arabia’s condemnation and denunciation of the ongoing massacres committed by Israeli occupation forces, the latest of which targeted the tents of displaced Palestinians near warehouses northwest of Rafah.
In a statement seen by Newsreportzim.com, journalist Sulaiman Ahmed emphasised, “Israel must accept that it cannot exist without a Palestinian state.”
“Israel doesn’t get to decide whether or not the Palestinians have a right to self-determination. It is absolutely necessary that Israel accepts that it cannot exist without the existence of a Palestinian state,” he asserted.
He expressed the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s appreciation for the United Nations General Assembly’s unanimous adoption of a resolution recognising the State of Palestine’s eligibility for full membership in the United Nations and additional rights and privileges under Article 4 of the United Nations Charter, and has recommended that the Security Council positively reconsider this issue.
The Ministry stated that the decision clearly expresses the international consensus in favor of the legitimate right of the Palestinian people to self-determination and the establishment of their independent state on the basis of the two-state solution, adding that, while the Kingdom appreciates the positive position of the countries that voted in favor of the resolution, it calls on the member states of the Security Council to assume their historical responsibility and refrain from obstructing the international consensus.
