Jah Prayzah delivered an outstanding performance, showcasing both his recent hits and classics, keeping the audience on their feet. However, midway through his act, he was abruptly instructed to halt his performance, to allow the program to proceed. Footage of this embarrassing incident quickly spread across social media, generating significant discussion on various platforms.
This incident draws parallels to a 2017 episode involving Zimdancehall artist Soul Jah Love. During a performance at Sakubva Stadium at a Zanu PF rally, Soul Jah Love was similarly directed to cease singing and take his seat by the then Zanu PF Youth League leader, Innocent Hamandishe.
In response to this incident, Soul Jah Love released a track titled “Ndiri Zvinhu,” directly challenging Hamandishe’s assertion that “Jah Love hachisi chinhu” (Jah Love is insignificant). Instead of following Soul Jah Love’s example and letting his music speak for itself, Jah Prayzah opted for a cryptic social media post.
Jah Prayzah shared a photo of himself wearing a t-shirt with the phrase “Only God Can Judge Me” and captioned it with a “be quiet” emoji. This cryptic post sparked a discussion, with some speculating that he was addressing the criticism he received for performing at President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s inauguration and swearing-in ceremony, while others reassured him of their continued support. Here are some of the comments:
