The sentencing of Senator Jameson Timba, interim leader of the Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) faction, along with 34 other members of the #Avondale78, has been postponed to Wednesday, November 27, 2024, at 11:15 a.m.
The CCC members appeared in court today following their conviction for participating in an unlawful gathering.
The group was found guilty on Friday by a Harare magistrate, while 28 others from the same group were acquitted. Senator Timba and 78 individuals were arrested on June 16, 2024, during a police raid at his residence in the quiet suburb of Avondale, Harare.
This postponement will extend their time in detention to 164 days.
