Freed former CCC legislator Job Sikhala evoked mixed feelings after visiting Prophet Blessing Chiza and getting anointed.
Sikhala was released from Chikurubi Maximum Prison on 30 January 2023 after spending 595 days in pre-trial detention. This was after the Harare Magistrates Court sentenced him to a wholly suspended two-year sentence for inciting public violence.
The firebrand politician was arrested on 14 June 2022 following violent outbursts that happened in Nyatsime at the memorial of slain CCC activist Moreblessing Ali. Ali went missing in May 2022, only to be found gruesomely chopped and stuffed in a sack which her family found in a well.
Before her memorial, suspected CCC members went around the area breaking windows and also burnt a ZANU-PF councillor’s home. Following the violence, the ZRP nabbed Sikhala, accusing him of fanning the violence.
Sikhala had all his bail applications denied since 2022 and got free after his public violence incitement sentence.
Following his release from Chikurubi, the media has been having a field day as Sikhala has been speaking out. He revealed that some of his comrades abandoned him, and also said he needs time to assess the CCC situation before deciding.
Yesterday, Sikhala went to Faith in God Ministries Eagle Life Assembly in Bulawayo led by Prophet Blessing Chiza. At the church, he told the church leader that he had dreams in jail and saw late MDC-T leader Morgan Tsvangirai.
After talking about the dream and seeking interpretation, he went to the front and bowed for Prophet Chiza to speak. Afterwards the Prophet anointed the politician.
The church leader reacted:
“I’m no prophesying. I’m interpreting. It’s a dream he was given. I’m just interpreting the prophetic dream that Job Sikhala is looking for interpretation because it’s from God. My question when I looked at you, i said why is this man still wearing suits when he was told to stop wearing suits? So from today stop wearing suits.”
