In an appalling turn of events, the government of Zimbabwe has cancelled the Passion Link bus licence following a tr@gic acc!dent which claimed the liv3s of 8 Bernard Mzeki Anglican pilgrims.
According to sources, the Passion Link transport company is alleged to have deployed an unroadworthy bus to carry the church passengers as it allegedly experienced several mechanical faults along the way, including a faulty clutch.
The bus driver identified as Ray Donald Mugari(40) halted the bus to check the smokey engine after he was alerted by passengers on board which ultimately led to the fire breaking out.
The bus owner and driver are alleged to be set for trial following the fire disaster.
National police spokesperson Commissioner Paul Nyathi said the bus had 66 passengers on board when it caught fire, and 58 managed to escape while eight were presumed de@d.
The Ministry of Transport has also confirmed to revoking the Passion Link bus licence.
