The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) has confirmed an incident in which four people drowned at Lake Kariba after a dinkey boat capsized.
In a statement ZRP spokesperson Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi said the bodies of the deceased were retrieved.
The Zimbabwe Police Has announced the names of the four victims who died when dinkey boat capsized near Tsetse land , lake Kariba on 16th september 2023 at about 1230 hours
Assistant Commissioner (NYATHI P) cornfirmed that:
The victims were positively identified by their next kin as follows;
* Segeant Tatenda Nekati (36) of Zimbabwe National Army
* Corporal Nxobile Ncube of Zimbabwe National Army
* Trust Phiri (24) Of Chilimba Village Negande ,Kariba
*Adson Mupiringano (40) Of Batongo ,Kariba
The bodies of the victims were retrieved on 17th and 18th September 2023 and were taken to KARIBA district mortuary for post mortem .The police Urges the public to be conscious when using dinkey boats
