The disturbing incident involving Caleb Chinodakufa has sparked outrage and raised serious questions regarding police conduct and the treatment of individuals in custody.
Chinodakufa, a 33-year-old man from Karoi, was @ttacked by police dogs after he attempted to flee when officers stopped him during a routine patrol in a high-crime area.
Despite suffering severe bite wounds, he was subjected to a lengthy detention and denied immediate medical care for several hours, forcing him to endure pain and bl3eding throughout the night at the police station.
His mother, Muchaneta Kofi, expressed her disbelief at the lack of compassion shown by law enforcement, highlighting how her son was made to wait in line at the hospital like other patients, even with his inj_ries visible.
Following intervention from a relative within the police force, Chinodakufa finally received treatment at Karoi District Hospital after 14 hours of inj_ry and distress.
Official police reports revealed that he faced a fine for disorderly conduct, raising concerns about the appropriateness of such penalties in light of his circumstances.
