A devastating incident occurred in Siampeta village, Kalomo, when a herd of 24 cattle fell victim to a lightning strike, leaving only six survivors.
The tragic event has left the owner, Thomas Siadunka, and his family in shock and grief. Yesterday morning, a family member discovered the lifeless animals in the kraal while fetching water.
The herd comprised six bulls and 18 cows, with eight pregnant cows due for delivery next month.
Mr. Siadunka shared his heartbreak on Namwianga community radio station, “This loss is crippling for me and my family. Eight of those cows were expecting calves, and their demise is a tremendous blow.”
