The Zimbabwean opposition leader, Linda Tsungirirai Masarira, has reportedly been hospitalised.
According to a post on her social media account on X (formerly known as Twitter), the LEAD President announced that she is taking a temporary break from online and physical activities to focus on self-care and recovery.
“I’m taking a temporary break from online and physical activities for the next week to prioritize my loved one, Linda, and her well-being as she is hospitalised. I’m currently addressing some personal health issues and will be focusing on self-care and recovery during this time,” Masarira said.
The opposition politician did not disclose the cause of her hospitalization or the location where she is being treated.
During her absence, Linda Masarira has appointed her Vice ice President, Patrick Patson Ndlovu, as the acting President for the next two weeks.
The appointment took effect immediately.
“In my absence, I’ve appointed Patrick Patson Ndlovu, Vice-President of LEAD, to serve as Acting President for the next two weeks, effective immediately,” she added.
