Sizalobuhle Mutanga, from Jabatshaba area, has not managed to secure a Form 1 place due to a lack of funds. Multi-award-winning praise poet and philanthropist Obert Dube, who was moved by her plight is mobilising public assistance for her through his social media platforms.
“A neighbour who follows me online informed me about Sizalobuhle’s situation,” he explains. “I pay school fees for orphans and support the elderly with food, and I couldn’t ignore this call for help.”
Dube said the nearest school is Fatima High School and to enrol at the school Sizalobuhle would have to pay US$300 for the first term and US$150 for the following school terms. A kind donor has already contributed US$100 towards the school fees.
Unfortunately, Sizalobuhle’s parents are in South Africa and out of reach, leaving her without financial support.
Sizalobuhle also requires school uniforms, sold exclusively at the school for US$38. Thankfully, another generous individual has covered this cost, and the uniform money has been deposited into the school account. Now, Sizalobuhle needs further assistance with stationery, school shoes, and socks.
“Those wishing to donate can directly deposit funds into the school account,” said Dube. “Alternatively, you can reach me on WhatsApp at +263 712336972 or call +263 774953004.”
