Tarisai Cleopatra Munetsiwa, popularly known as Madam Boss, a multi-award-winning comedienne and socialite, has arrived in America ahead of the 2024 BET Awards.
This comes after she received an invitation to attend the prestigious 2024 edition of the BET Awards, set to take place at the Peacock Theatre in Los Angeles, United States of America.
Madam Boss continues to break new ground with her invitation to represent Zimbabwe at the BET Awards ceremony on the 30th of this month, marking a significant milestone in her career.
“I am thrilled to be the first and only Zimbabwean in my category to be invited to the BET Awards. I’m overwhelmed and happy and would like to thank my management, family, fans, and everyone who has supported my career since day one,” she said.
Music and arts expert Plot Mhako commented, “The invitation of Madam Boss to the BET Awards in the States reaffirms that Zimbabwe is on the international radar. The international community is noticing the efforts and work put in by Zimbabwean artists and content creators. It’s a confirmation that we’re moving in the right direction. I foresee more people being invited in the future, and I applaud anyone who worked behind the scenes to make this possible because it’s not an easy achievement to get invited to the BET Awards.
“They took a lot of time to decide whom to invite to the event, and I believe we will see many more Zimbabweans being invited in the future. This is not the first time she has made an impact on the international stage. She continues to open new doors and inspire anyone who dares to dream and follow their vision, having built her own dream from passion and desire. Now, she is flying the flag high.”
Madam Boss won the E! African Social Star award in 2021 in the People’s Choice category.
The award-winning comedian was also invited to represent Zimbabwe at the premiere of Netflix’s Bridgerton season three in South Africa a month ago.
