A Harare football heavyweights Dynamos FC are facing scrutiny over the ages of their newly unveiled players, former Yadah FC defender Clive Mandivei and midfielder Kibaki Dhlamini.
Initially, the club celebrated the signing of 24-year-old Mandivei, announcing his arrival with great fanfare.
“We are pleased to present our new Glamour Boy, Clive Mandivei. The centre back has signed a two-year contract after joining us from Yadah FC,” stated Dynamos in an official announcement.
Fans are raising doubts about the accuracy of defender Clive Mandivei’s stated age of 24, as records from the 2018 Chelsea/Shields grassroots initiative show he was 22 at that time, thus questioning how he remains the same age seven years later.
The skepticism intensified with the signing of midfielder Kibaki Dhlamini, claimed to be 25 years old, as investigations revealed he had already established himself as a player in 2018 and completed his O’ Level exams in 2013, which would make his current age claim improbable.
Dynamos FC coach Lloyd Chigowe has remained uncontactable, with his phone going unanswered, while the club itself has failed to address mounting concerns over the ages of their new signings, allowing fans to speculate about the authenticity of the information presented.
