The Zimbabwean Ministry of Health and Child Care has announced a significant rise in malaria cases and de@ths in the country since the beginning of the year. According to the latest report, a total of 47 de@ths have been recorded from a cumulative 24,432 cases of malaria.
This alarming increase in malaria cases and de@ths has prompted the Ministry of Health to take urgent measures to contain the spread of the disease. The Ministry has warned that the situation is particularly concerning in rural areas, where access to healthcare facilities is limited.
The Ministry of Health has urged citizens to take preventive measures to avoid contracting malaria, including using insecticide-treated bed nets, wearing insect repellent, and eliminating standing water around homes to prevent mosquito breeding.
Additionally, the Ministry has launched a nationwide campaign to increase awareness about the importance of seeking medical attention promptly if symptoms of malaria occur. The campaign also aims to encourage citizens to take preventive measures to protect themselves and their families from the disease.

Malaria is a leading cause of illness and de@ths in Zimbabwe, particularly among children under the age of five and pr3gnant women. The disease is transmitted through the bite of an infected mosquito, and symptoms can range from mild to severe, including fever, chills, and flu-like symptoms.
The Ministry of Health is urging citizens to remain vigilant and take proactive steps to protect themselves against malaria.
