A 9-year-old Rumaisa Sadiq was allegedly ra_ped and murdered by Manir Mai, a local ‘chemist’ who was meant to provide her with medical care.
Rumaisa’s father, Malam Sadiq Badamasi, had brought his three children to the chemist’s facility seeking treatment for fever, and while two of the children were treated and sent home, Rumaisa was advised to remain for further observation due to her worsening condition.
Instead of the necessary medical attention, she fell victim to a horrific crime, suffering brutal s3xual ass@ult and ultimately d3ath.
When Malam Badamasi returned to check on her, he found her condition had severely deteriorated, with the chemist attributing her distress to injections received earlier.
Alarmed by her severe dehydration and groans of pain, her parents rushed her back to the same chemist, who then reluctantly suggested transferring her to a nearby hospital.
Unfortunately, the Primary Health-care Centre in Ungogo turned her away, leaving Rumaisa without immediate care.
It wasn’t until she was admitted to Murtala Mohammed General Hospital that medical professionals recognized the extent of her inj_ries, ultimately confirming the devastating news to her father that she had been brutally r_ped.
Following this horrifying discovery, Manir Mai was arrested and charged with two counts of rap3 and hom!cide, with a trial judge ordering his remand in a correctional facility pending trial.
