A male nurse at Sally Mugabe Hospital in Harare has been arr3sted for fr@ud and corruption.
Tafadzwa Jackson, 41, was taken into custody by members of the Southern Africa Regional Anti-Corruption Organisation (SARACO) and the Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) Mbare.
According to reports, Jackson allegedly defrauded a complainant from Waterfalls in Harare by the name Venicent Mavhuna of US$700, promising to secure a training place for the complainant’s wife at the hospital.
Despite receiving the payment, Jackson failed to deliver on his promise.

An investigation by SARACO and ZRP Mbare revealed that Jackson was a registered general nurse at Sally Mugabe Hospital and was attached to the theatre department.
He had earlier been summoned by hospital authorities and ordered to refund the money, but had only managed to pay back US$200.
The arrest of Tafadzwa Jackson is a result of a joint effort by SARACO and ZRP to combat corruption and bring perpetrators to justice. The accused is currently detained at ZRP Mbare and is expected to appear in court soon.
