A 20-year-old man arrested in Chegutu in connection with a case of m-rder which occurred on Feb 03 2024. The accused person identified as Tinotenda Tatenda Nyika. The suspect allegedly st@bbed the victim with a home-made knife once on the lower left arm before he stealing a cell phone.
After the ZRP confirms the de@th of fellow colleague, they deployed the experts to investigate the case and also to gather the information which may lead to the arrest of Nyika. On Tuesday this week, detectives from CID Chegutu used a tip off from the community and recovered stolen cellphone (Techno camon) from a local person which led to the arrest a Tino.
In a statement seen by Newsreportzim.com, ZRP reports that, Tinotenda Tatenda Nyika (20) was arrested in connection with a case of m-rder which occurred at Westen Shopping Centre, Chegutu on 03/02/24 in which a police officer, Elisha Munengerwa (35) d!ed. The suspect allegedly st@bbed the victim with a home-made knife once on the lower left arm before stealing a Techno Camon cellphone and fled from the scene. The victim succumbed to the stab wound. On 06/02/24, detectives from CID Chegutu acted on received information and recovered the stolen cellphone from a local person which led to the arrest of the suspect.
Tinotenda Tatenda Nyika will appear in court facing m-rder charges.
