The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) has reported the arrest of Tenziwashe Ndlovu in connection with the m_rder of Everest Ncube, 35, a tragic incident that unfolded on July 14, 2024, at Unity Mine in Kwekwe.
The case has drawn considerable attention due to the viol3nt nature of the att@ck and the subsequent d3ath of the victim.
According to police reports, the incident occurred around 1900 hours when Ndlovu allegedly struck Ncube once on the head with a stick, following a disagreement whose particulars have not yet been disclosed.
Witnesses at the scene have reported hearing a commotion just before the ass@ult took place, suggesting that a heated argument preceded the tragic event. Following the @ttack, Ndlovu allegedly fled the scene, leaving Ncube severely injur3d.
Emergency services were summoned, and the victim was rushed to Sally Mugabe Hospital for immediate medical attention. Despite the efforts of the medical team, Ncube succumbed to his injur!es on August 1, 2024, marking a heartbreaking conclusion to a conflict that escalated into viol3nce.
Ndlovu is currently in police custody, where he will face charges of murd3r.Community leaders and activists have expressed concern over the rising vi0lence and have called for greater efforts to address conflict resolution and mediation within the area to prevent such incidents from reoccurring.
