A distressing turn of events unfolded when a 32-year-old man tragically ended his life by hanging himself, following a heated altercation with his wife over allegations of infidelity. The incident took place on Boxing Day and has left the community of Buhera in a state of shock and sorrow.
Darlington Mubaiwa, the deceased, engaged in a heated dispute with his wife, Nyaradzo Nerwande, regarding issues of infidelity. Following the disagreement, Mubaiwa left Nerwande at her workplace in Murambinda and returned home alone.
Upon her return, Nerwande entered their house only to be confronted by the devastating sight of her husband’s lifeless body hanging from a roof truss. Overwhelmed by the horrific scene, she wasted no time in reporting the tragic incident to the local authorities.
Law enforcement officials have stated that no foul play is suspected in the incident, indicating that the deceased took his own life.
Assistant Inspector Chinyoka has urged the public to seek peaceful and mature resolutions to disputes, rather than resorting to such extreme measures. He emphasized the importance of engaging the support and guidance of community elders and reaching out to the police’s community relations and liaison offices for sound advice in resolving conflicts amicably.
