Police in Southern Province have arrested a 42-year-old man from Zambia compound in Choma district for allegedly defiling his 12-year-old stepdaughter. The shocking incident occurred on Tuesday night when the family retired to their rooms around 10 pm.
The suspect had earlier asked his 32-year-old wife to engage in intimate activities, but she declined and fell asleep. Unbeknownst to her, the man had other sinister intentions.
He snuck into his stepdaughter’s room around 11 pm and began abusing her. However, his wife noticed his absence and heard noises from the girl’s room, prompting her to investigate.
Upon discovering the horrific scene, the enraged mother immediately struck her husband with a pan brick, inj_RAPEring his forehead and causing general body pain.
Neighbors intervened, apprehending the suspect and taking him to Shampande police post. The incident was reported to Choma Central Police Station, where the suspect remains in custody.
Similar cases of defilement have been reported in the region, highlighting the need for increased vigilance and protection for vulnerable children.
