Tonderai Gabriel Mugabe, a 47-year-old man, has stepped forward with shocking claims that he is the hidden son of the late former Zimbabwean president, Robert Mugabe.
Born in 1977 at the Chimoio base in Mozambique during the Second Chimurenga Liberation War, Tonderai asserts that his mother, Hilda Maeka, had an intimate relationship with Mugabe amidst the turmoil of the liberation struggle.
To support his allegations, Tonderai has presented several documents, including an affidavit signed by Lawrencia Mugabe, who is the daughter of Mugabe’s sister, Bridget.
This intriguing claim shines a light on a little-known facet of Mugabe’s life, suggesting a personal history that may have remained hidden for decades.

According to Tonderai, his mother met Mugabe shortly after his release from pr!son at Chimoio base, and they began a relationship that was abruptly interrupted by the devastating bombing of Chimoio. Mugabe reportedly believed Maeka had d!ed in the @tt@ck, which led to their separation.
Nevertheless, Tonderai maintains that they continued to communicate after Zimbabwe gained independence.
His revelation raises significant questions about Mugabe’s personal life and the possibility of other unknown offspring.
Taking legal action, Tonderai has filed a challenge against Bona Mugabe, the executor of her father’s estate, as well as the Registrar of Births and Deaths and the Master of the High Court.
He is demanding a share of Mugabe’s estate based on his claimed biological connection to the former president, further complicating the already intricate legacy of Robert Mugabe.
