A 23-year-old man, Emmanuel Chingwaru from Zimbabwe, has been charged with murd3r after a fight over an apple ended in tragedy.
The incident occurred on July 15 2024, and resulted in the d3ath of the victim, Mwasura.
According to reports, the altercation began when Chingwaru forcibly took an apple from the victim, which had been given to him by a relative.
The victim had wanted the apple for himself, leading to a confrontation as Chingwaru resisted and simply wanted to enjoy his apple.
The dispute escalated, with Chingwaru allegedly ass_ulting the v!ctim repeatedly on the head, nose, and mouth using his own head during the att@ck.
Things took a d3adly turn when Chingwaru stabbed the victim behind his left ear with a knife.
The v!ctim was rushed to a District Hospital, where he succumbed to his inj_ries shortly after admission. Chingwaru fled the scene but was apprehended two days later.
The suspect has since been taken into custody and appeared before the Chegutu Magistrate’s Court for his initial hearing. He was remanded in custody until August 2, 2024, pending further legal proceedings.
In response to this tragic incident, the National Prosecution Authority of Zimbabwe has urged the public to seek peaceful resolutions to disputes and avoid taking the law into their own hands.
The authority emphasized the importance of resolving conflicts through peaceful means to avoid loss of life and property.
